He's not a kook on too many issues, don't worry when all that hyper inflation shit happens, and we're speaking Cantonese a few decades from now you'll be sorry, lol.

Not saying he's the best person, but what other Republican is the best for candidacy at the moment?

And the last thing i want to do is turn ppl away from libertarian views, but as the closest thing to a libertarian on our forums i can tell you the guy is a kook... - he's a step or two away from being a 9/11 truther - he's made racist comments in an old newsletter, something dems can only get away with - his supporters are fucking kooks - gold standard lol - he thinks its ok if iran gets a nuke - he wants to cut a trillion out of the budget in just one yr... even i would say thats too much. i could go on and on as to who is a better candidate it still looks like the robot romney has the edge. Maybe if huntsman got some traction...as much as there are things to like about gingrich his past is full of holes. The rest are selling books or getting their name out there for a future position. oh and the oopsie texan.

lol i have to admit it is a shit show... but im sure by late spring we will put this trauma behind us.
my fear is that we wont have a stark choice in the next election, one where the repubs put all of the things they wanna do out there now and america makes its decision. instead of that, we'll have romney backing into the nomination and then backing into the presidency. not how it should be happy new year tho Dose!

My issue though is none of those other people have anywhere near the intelligence or qualifications to get the job done. I think as far as republicans go he's the only one who almost has a brain. Also there was that debate a few weeks ago, I was listening to Newt Gingrich sound like an idiot, and two other retards talking about betting 10,000 dollars over some retarded issue. He was the only one saying anything smart, or informative. It scares me that one of those people will be the Republican candidate, I think Obama will win again, mainly because he has no real competition |

lol dose, optimism is good, but ur dreaming. If obama wins, its in a squeaker.
and stevee, You may disagree with them, but Romney /Gingerich arent dumb. And Paul is the obama among republicans... he has some nice witty lines that seem at first glance to be good. But in fact they dont really mean anything. Just like nobama and his vague statements that everyone thought meant something else. lolRubes

Ron Paul has a lot of good ideas and beliefs, and he has a lot of straight up crazy ones.
When I hear ideas like ending the drug war, I'm rather attracted to the idea, but then I realized it's because I'm a progressive and it's a progressive idea. Ron Paul supports it because he's hardcore libertarian and doesn't want the government doing ANYTHING. I like his assault on the federal reserve. I don't like that he want's to send us back to the gold standard. He's a little too crazy on States Right's. While the federal government is an absolute mess, most state governments are equally fucked. |

Liz Warren, 2016. I'm already making my t-shirt.
I think Dose is right, Obama by a landslide. He has far too much money to lose to an iffy red candidate. However, if the republicans had a better choice (maybe huntsman) I would vote against Obama considering some of the shit I've seen lately. NDAA? Really? I am far from satisfied on either side. Obama was became essentially a republican panderer - when we needed a die hard liberal - so he's a poor choice, and the republicans are in la-la land. It's either a shitty choice or a lunatic. As Nader once said, choosing the lesser of two evils isn't good enough for America and I agree. The only thing I find comforting about Paul is that he actually believes in the constitution, so under him we wouldn't see bull shit like we have under Obama, as of late. |

maybe I'm just living in my own dreamworld, but I dont see a landslide at all.
- You have big name dems retiring instead of fighting. ( Nelson, Frank, hell maybe even Pelosi) - Obama is fighting to keep his approval above 45%. - 70% think the country is headed in the wrong direction. The battleground states look to be colo, fla, NC, VA OH PA and zrrath-ville WI. I just dont see him having an easy time in most of those states. And to me, what you call his republican pandering is obama just doing what he needs to do to have a chance this Nov. But as we all know, anything can happen this far out... Im sure most of you are enjoying the republican shit show right now, but remember 3-4 months from now all this will be over. Ps if the nominee is ron paul, it will be a landslide for obama.

I've always respected Ron Paul - I probably don't agree with a lot of what he has to say, but I have listened to him in debates and he sticks to his guns, he does not succumb to party pressure. He's not afraid to say he wants the states to decide abortion related issues in front of a bunch of moralists who would love to have the national government shove anti-abortion legislation down women's throats.
p.s. My logic behind abortion, whether I condone it or not, is why a bunch of old men are determining what women can do with their bodies. LOLWUT p.p.s. That's probably the most hypocritical thing I've found about Republicans - they want government outside of your life, unless it's your vagina. Ron Paul is more of a Republican than most modern Republicans as far as I'm concerned, because he actually upholds the values of the party. Anyway this is the first election I'll be voting in and as of right now I'm not going to say anything, lest I be roasted.
